Apple Pie at Greenbank Farm, Whidbey Island Cafe

Salted Carmel Apple Pie found a Whidbey Island Cafe
 Delicious Apple Pie

Bringing a whole Apple Pie home to the Family, of course!
I found a Apple Pie that was the best I have ever tasted. In Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island at the Whidbey Island Cafe, what a cute place. They have other great dishes that everyone should try. Greenbank Farm has four Art Studios that are wonderful to spend time at and a Cheese shop. The Farm offers more than this but we had to get back on the road, hopefully we can return again soon.

Exploring Whidbey Island

The Cabin

I found my place, so perfect!

Hubby makes a fire in this cozy decorated with a heart cabin.

This cute cabin rental was on Whidbey Island, Guest Cottage Log Cabins it was called.
Peggy and Doug run the place, it sits on 25 beautiful acres. Their parents started it and built everything in the late 60s and 70s
They would travel across the county picking up antiques here in there and then lovingly put them in their cabins that they built themselves with their children. I just could not believe all the attention to detail.
They are so generous with the breakfast and all the trimmings.
They are located about a mile past Greenland on South Whidbey Island and right down the road from Greenlbank Farm.
I have loved log cabins in this dated period and I felt like I walked into my own dream.
It reminded me of a Hobbit House also, I am pretty sure that everyone would fall in love with this place.
The grounds outside are amazing, trees, pond, swings, well let me post more pictures of the place. Smile ~

Lummi and Guemes Island Adventure, Washington

Lummi Island Boat House
" I stayed up all night to see what happened to the sun and it finally dawned on me" someone said, lol. In the house keeping busy all winter and now it is time to get out and explore, and explore we are doing, decided to visit some of the close islands around our new home. Lummi, Guemes, Whidbey Island, all beautiful. It is May and the weather is still a little cool and still rain, but warmer days, and when the sunshine is out glorious!

My Baby is Having a Baby

My first born is having a baby come October. I am so excited and happy, we call the baby, Bean, we will know in three weeks if it is a boy or girl. God's Blessings are so faithful, he is good!

Fly Fishing Hubby

Hubby learned to fly fish a few years ago. He is still learning and likes it. We made the move to Washington just recently, and took the plunge bought a little house, so went out exploring the area. We found a beautiful lake not to far away. Silver Lake up in the mountains on the road to Mt. Baker. Hubby got out his fly pole and along came a journalist to take his picture. He took about 50 shots just to get this one that I thought was great. I like the way his line shows at the top.

You pick your fake fly that you put on your pole and trick the fish into thinking it is a real fly. This is a real fly that the fish are eating, the secret to fly fishing finding out what they are eating at the time your are fishing.   I caught my fish the regular way with power bait and a big sinker...yes he is a little small but legal size, and yes he tasted great!

A Coat For Bear

I made a cute little coat for Buddy Bear last night. I put Grammie Loves Buddy on the pocket with some flowers, I was happy how it turned out it fit him fine, and he loves to get dressed up.

Hubby's Surprise

Hubby made me this chalkboard, he surprised me, he made the frame himself, it is rustic and large. At first I thought I am not going to have room for it, I already have several, but it has become my favorite one. It always has a new verse to memorize on it and it is big enough to write comfortably. I love it.

Pillow Case Curtains

I am excited about these yellow curtains. Here in Washington it is not like Southern California, not a whole lot of sun. I miss that sunshine. On a cloudy day the filtered light comes through my kitchen window and it looks like beautiful sunshine through that yellow material.
I had these vintage pillow cases that had stains on them, so I cut off the needlepoint part and sewed it on my curtains, I made a little skirt under my sink also. So glad I could still use them.

Vintage Aprons

I found these vintage aprons at a estate sale several months ago. They are so cute, I am going to make a pattern from them and then make some new ones from the new vintage 30 prints they make now. I think they are so cute, they just say to me, Biscuits and Gravy Time!! Apple Pie and Ice Cream Time!! I remember my sweet Grandma who loved her kitchen and was such a great homemaker. She cooked everything with love, and her apron dried many of my tears. Aprons are special to me.

Indian Sweet Tea

I am posting about Indian Sweet Milk Tea today, I might be a little behind the times with this, I just found out about it last week.  This new friend was excited to show my hubby and I how to make Indian Milk Tea. I drink tea every day but I had never made it this way. This is what he showed me and it is fun and easy. I really love the taste. Our friend is from Indian so he knows how to make it good.
You get your coffee cup and fill it up twice with water you dump it in a pan get it to a boil, add one teaspoon of loose black tea and while it is boiling you put 3 or 4 cardamon seeds and 4 cloves in a mortar and pestle and grind, put into boiling tea and boil for 2 or 3 minutes. Fill up cup with milk and put in also with boiling tea and spices boil a minute,  add sugar too, then pour through strainer into cup. Enjoy.
